Scots fans can finally get their hands on McDonald's as it makes its long-awaited comeback up north.

McDonald's is set to reopen drive-thru restaurants in Scotland from next week.

The fast food chain is bringing back another 975 branches across the UK, with plans to roll out delivery up north.

Fans of the fast food chain were outraged when McDonald's snubbed Scotland by only opening chains down south as part of their phased comeback plan amid the pandemic.

But in a statement today, McDonald's said they plan to reopen every Scottish drive-thru restaurant between June 2 and June 4.

A spokesperson said: "We can today announce that by 4 June, 1019 of our restaurants will have reopened, either for Drive Thru or McDelivery.

"This means every Drive Thru in the UK and Ireland will reopen between Tuesday and Thursday next week and we will start to expand the availability of McDelivery too.

"This is only possible following the hard work of the teams in our 44 pilot restaurants. Over the last fortnight, our employees, franchisees and suppliers have worked tirelessly to implement new procedures to enable safe working so that we can now help all parts of the UK and Ireland to enjoy the return of the Big Mac."
