McDonald's have announced that they will open all of their drive-thru restaurants next week, including Wishaw.

They have said 975 more outlets will reopen to the public, providing customers are able to keep in line with social distancing and safety guidelines.

The stores will reopen between June 2 and June 4, and they have said they will be releasing the locations of the reopening restaurants on the morning of each day so they can manage anticipated demand.

The fast-food giant said from June 4, stores will start reopening at 11am in line with government guidelines and with strict social distancing measures in place.

Just one order will be allowed per car and purchases will be capped at £25.

In car parks, dividers will be in place, while security teams will patrol zones to ensure visitors comply with safety laws.

In stores, perspex screens have been fitted while all employees will have to carry out temperature checks on arrival.

There will also be a restricted menu - which sees breakfast being scrapped for the foreseeable future - due to limited staff numbers.

The news of the restaurant re-opening follows other Wishaw fast-food stores, including Subway and KFC.
