Wits Tie Down Star Midfielder

The Siya crew reported in March this year that Cole Alexander turned down Wits’ latest offer of a contract extension, with indications at the time that he was not satisfied with certain terms of the new deal.

The 30-year-old’s current contract with the Students comes to an end on June 30, although, Wits do have an added one-year option set in place on his deal.
It has since been confirmed to the Siya crew that following failed attempts at getting the midfielder to sign a new deal, Wits have went ahead with exercising the added option on Alexander’s deal, keeping him at the club until, at least, June 30, 2021.

Alexander joined Wits in February 2018 after previously being on the books of SuperSport United. The 30-year-old has been enjoying some of his best football under Head Coach Gavin Hunt, establishing himself as a key player in the setup.
