Morrisons to launch shop selling just clothes and homeware

It will be a 'one-of-a-kind' store - a branch without the usual groceries

Morrisons is to launch its first shop selling just clothing and homeware - instead of groceries, according to reports today.

The new store will sell Morrison's Nutmeg clothing and its own-brand homeware, according to Retail Week.

Adverts have been put out looking for a team leader and customer assistants at the new store, which will be in Bolsover, Derbyshire.

Morrisons says the new shop is a 'one-of-a-kind storeā€. It will be the first Morrisons shop selling just clothes and homeware.

Nutmeg womenswear is sold at 100 Morrisons stores and childrenswear is available in all stores.

The move comes as the Government relaxes lockdown rules allowing non-essential retailers - such as those selling clothes - to reopen from June 15.

Supermarkets have been allowed to continue trading through lockdown and rules were recently tweaked to allow homeware stores to reopen.

New guidelines mean that shops selling clothes will not have fitting rooms, and any clothes touched by customers will be kept off sale for 72 hours.
