Isko opens new quarantine facility
by Jerry S. TanA NEW quarantine facility for suspected COVID patients was opened by Mayor Isko Moreno and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna at the T. Paez Integrated School in Tondo, Manila.
The new facility is the latest addition to the quarantine facilities being built by the city government in anticipation of a possible rise in the number of COVID cases once the city enters into a general community quarantine (GCQ) status from the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
The said facility has a 41-bed capacity and will accommodate those who will turn positive for the virus during rapid testing while awaiting results of confirmatory testing.
Others that were also turned into quarantine facilities include the Del Pan evacuation center, Araullo High School and Tondo High School.
Once the patients are found positive in the confirmatory testing or swabbing, they will be turned over to the Manila Infectious Disease Control Center or MIDCC at the Sta. Ana Hospital where they will be treated.
