TWO men accused of raping two young girls in Bulacan were hauled to jail by the local police in separate anti-crime operations on Wednesday, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said yesterday.

The official identified the suspects as Ramil Luz, a 52-year old security guard from Curvada, Barangay Minuyan in Norzagaray and Emmanuel Ortiz,39, a tricycle driver from Bgy. Bintog in Plaridel town.

Cajipe said Luz was arrested on charges of raping his 12-year-old stepdaughter as the latter was taking a bath in their toilet. The sexual abuse only stopped when the victim’s mother arrived and sensed that something was wrong in their house.

The official said the woman later confronted the suspect but instead of having remorse, the latter mauled her prompting the victim and her daughter to seek the help of local barangay and police authorities in arresting the guard.

On the other hand, Ortiz was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl harvesting water spinach or ‘kangkong’ in a swamp in their barangay. The victim immediately reported the incident to her aunt who later sought the help of the local police in arresting the suspect.

Both suspects are now facing charges for rape in relation to RA 7610 or the anti-child abuse law, said Cajipe.
