The Super Eagles who were tipped to defeat Denmark in the round of 16 of the competition were stunned 4-1 by the Europeans and Nigeria exited the competition.
Finidi George who was also part of the Nigerian party to the mundial however stated that his team-mate Taribo West should have made the allegation before now, adding that he was not aware.
“I was never aware of such and this is my problem with some of my teammates. If he (Taribo West) saw some players camping ladies in their rooms, why didn’t he speak up that time?” Finidi told Legit.ng during a live Instagram session on Monday, May 25.
“Why wait till after 22 years before coming out to speak up? He could have spoken up that time not now.”
Asked why Nigeria under-performed in that game against Denmark if Taribo West claim isn’t true, Finidi George said the Super Eagles underrated the Europeans.
“The problem we had against Denmark was that we underrated them because we beat Spain, Bulgaria and we just felt Denmark will be an easy ride,” he concluded.
