Man saved from River Forth and rushed to hospital as cops lock down two bridges

A MAN was rescued from the River Forth and rushed to hospital as cops locked down to bridges.

Police confirmed that Clackmannanshire Bridge and Kincardine Bridge had been shut off as they dealt with the ongoing incident.

Officers were alerted to concern for a person after a motor was found unattended at around 6.25am this morning.

A man was later found in the River Forth and returned to shore by fire crews with the aid of HM Coastguard.

He was then passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Forth Valley Hospital.

Cops confirmed the two bridges had been closed to allow emergency services to work in the area.

Traffic Scotland also told of the closures on social media.

They tweeted: "The Clackmannanshire Bridge is CLOSED in both directions due to a police incident."

And they later said: "A985 Kincardine Bridge - Closure, All lanes closed in both directions."

Officers were made aware of concern for a person after a vehicle was found unattended at the Clackmannanshire Bridge around 6.25am on Wednesday, 27 May.

"A man was found in the River Forth a short time later and was returned to the shore by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with the aid of HM Coastguard.

"He was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment.

"The bridge was closed to allow emergency services to work in the area and anyone affected is thanked for their understanding."
