Vetaspace on its way to provide PAN-India 5G network coverage

Pune-based Vetaspace Technology is working on launching a set of over 35 satellites to build 5G network connections across India. Subsequently, the company will launch a beta version of the said satellites in September; the actual mission of launching 35 satellites will take place a year from now, in 2021.

To achieve their herculean goal, the company is now busy installing eight ground stations, and 31,000 data receptors under PAN India. All the constellations of satellites will be placed into the LEO and GEO orbits.

Arun Kumar Sureban, Founder and CEO, Vestaspace Technology, said: “We are on a mission to make space accessible to everyone who once thought satellites were rocket science. Not only this but through our secured connections a common person can also access the satellites of their choice and to get immersed in the world of space.”

According to the CEO of Vetaspace, the company has received the green signal from the government after procuring the required licenses, and their initial service will be offered in Ku and Ka bands.

Sureban has revealed the company’s upcoming plan regarding the implementation of the 5G networks. He revealed that at first, the company will offer bandwidth to existing telecom operators and Internet service providers; however, it will also provide services to customers later on.

Sureban was tight-lipped about their business partners, but mentioned, “We are closely working with various government departments and agencies to ensure we have all the permissions in place ahead of the launch.”

The company is aiming at replacing traditional fiber networks with all the satellite constellations and to provide high-speed 5G-network connections PAN-India.

The solutions use 10 layers of security firewall which closely monitors illegitimate operations while uploading/downloading data from satellites. Vetaspace’s first-ever success came after they successfully live-streamed video of 1080p with less than 34 milliseconds latency with the speed of more than 400 Mbps. If Vetaspace manages to pull this off, it will become the first-of-its-kind service in India.
