Coronavirus Update: India’s Covid-19 Tally Tops 1.5 Lakh With 6,387 New Cases; Here’s The Latest State-Wise Breakup

With a spike of 6,387 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's total case count of coronavirus jumped to 151,767, the Union Health Ministry data revealed on Wednesday (27 May).

According to the Health Ministry, of the total, 83,004 are active cases while at least 64,426 people have been cured of the disease.

At least 170 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality count to 4,337.

Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 54,758 cases, including 1,792 fatalities and 16,954 recoveries. Tamil Nadu followed with 17,728 cases and Gujarat with 14,821 cases. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 14,000-mark with as many as 14,465 cases recorded so far in the national capital.

States with most casualties after Maharashtra are Gujarat (915), Madhya Pradesh (305), Delhi (288), and West Bengal (283).

States with more than 6,000 cases are Rajasthan (7,536), Madhya Pradesh (7,024) and Uttar Pradesh (6,548).

Among other states/UTs where corona cases have surged past 2,000-mark are West Bengal (4,009), Andhra Pradesh (3,171), Bihar (2,983), Karnataka (2,283) and Punjab (2,106).

According to the Health Ministry, 4,013 cases are being re-assigned to states.
