Jimmy Edgar and Hudson Mohawke Share New Woofer Rattler "BENT"
The underground dance music titans collide.
by Torsten IngvaldsenTwo titans of the underground dance music world — Jimmy Edgar and Hudson Mohawke — have teamed up for a brand new woofer rattler aptly titled “BENT.” Originally debuting on TNGHT’s highly-anticipated BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix last year alongside bars from Tkay Maidza, the newly-released track originally started off as a loop from HudMo, later reworked by Edgar into a pithy Detroit-meets-London sonic exploration.
As is expected from the Detroit native, the track draws on his 15-plus year career as a genre-bending, boundary-pushing producer in the world of underground electronica and hip-hop. The beat is relatively minimal in its approach, containing a rattling base beat that’s been flipped with layered synths and glitchy delays.
“BENT” follows Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum‘s ZAPS EP as J-E-T-S from last December, which featured the likes of Theophilus London and Zack Slime Fr.
