The Isle of Man TT is Going Digital

by

One of the world's best-known racing eventsĀ is getting a digital replacement. In a press release last night, organisers of the Isle of Man TT stated that eight riders will take part in a virtual alternative to the motorcycle race which first took place in 1907.

The physical event has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but eight racers will now ride the historic course inĀ Isle of Man TT: Ride on the Edge 2, which recreates the 60-mile course. Each of the pros will be paired up with an experienced player, with each duo's aggregate time determining their place in the overall standings.

The digital event will take place over eight days, starting on June 6. While the racing will take centre stage, a number of former stars will be joining the livestream to add a little extra colour. The physical event is set to return in 2021.
