Johannesburg businessman Thabiso Hamilton Ndlovu has apologised to South Africa for his ‘poor taste’ after a video in which he was showing off 5 high-end luxury cars which he bought on the same day went viral. Ndlovu sent tongues wagging when he purchased one Lamborghini Urus super SUV, two Porsches and two Jeeps.
According to the loaded businessman who is the founder of Hamilton Holdings, a company that provides commercial and engineering services in the SADC region, the vehicles were for himself, “the kids”, his parents and wife.
However, some people said that Ndlovu was being insensitive by flaunting his wealth at a time when most people were struggling to put food on the table due to the coronavirus induced national lockdown. Others called on the tycoon to be more cautious about what he posted because he would attract the attention of the authorities and go the way of ‘Sam Holding.’
Following the social media storm, Ndlovu issued a statement apologising for his actions saying that he had brought unwarranted attention on his family. He also said that the video was in poor taste considering the timing of it. In the statement which was posted on Twitter, Ndlovu said,
However, some social media users said that Ndlovu was under no obligation to apologise to anyone for being successful.
