His goal came in a 3-2 home victory over Derby in February.

Now, rumours on social media have suggested a cash-plus-Benkovic deal has been struck to send Celtic's Kristoffer Ajer to Leicester.

Benkovic spent last season on loan at Celtic, winning the treble under Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon, the latter taking over from the former when he moved to the King Power Stadium.

Benkovic cost Leicester £13m when he signed from Dinamo Zagreb in 2018.

He has made just one start for the Foxes. That came in an FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic in January.
