War Museum re-opens its doors to visitors, publishes aviation history book
The Latvian War Museum re-opens its doors to visitors on May 27, using the occasion to launch a new publication dedicated to the history of aviation - “Latvian Aviation 1919-1940”, which will be available at the museum itself, priced 10 euros.
This publication provides comprehensive information on the most important aircraft used in military and civil aviation and the development of aviation equipment in Latvia from 1919 to 1940. The edition is richly illustrated with unique materials from the aviation photography collection of the Latvian War Museum. The text of the book is in parallel in two languages (Latvian and English).
The author of the book is Dainis Poziņš, Head of the Weapons and Military Equipment Department of the Museum.
From May 27 the museum remains free to visit but visitors are requested to maintain the distance requirements set by the state. A maximum of 50 visitors will be allowed in the museum at the same time and guided tours will be possible for groups of up to 5 people.
The museum will be open five days a week: Wednesday to Sunday (10 am - 6 pm). The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
