Man mourns as he loses close girlfriend to COVID-19 in Abuja

- A Nigerian man identified as Salman Duke has been dealt a harsh blow by the coronavirus pandemic

- Duke said that he lost his close girlfriend to the deadly virus

- According to him, his late friend, Magana, had been treating malaria and typhoid until it was discovered that she was COVID-19 positive

The coronavirus pandemic has rendered many people orphans, friendless and without loved ones after taking the lives of many.

The deadly virus has caused the world to change in many ways with people learning to adjust to new things so as to reduce its spread.

A young Nigerian man identified as Salman Duke on Twitter took to the microblogging site to mourn after losing a dear friend of his to coronavirus in Abuja.

According to Duke, the deceased identified as Magana had been ill and was treating malaria and typhoid. After things got worse, she got tested and discovered that she was COVID-19 positive.

However, it was already too late as she did not win the fight against the virus and she lost her life to it.

Duke wrote: “I just lost a close girlfriend to Covid-19 in Wuye, Abuja, she passed just now.

It’s sad Covid-19 prevented me from being there when you gave up the ghost, which I’m very sure it was your last wish as you always say “Bobo come and hold me. Magana I will miss you for the rest of my life. The Hausa you thought and all the connections you gave in Abuja.

I insisted you were exposed to Covid-19, you claimed it was malaria, you kept treating malaria to typhoid until last week Thursday when things exacerbated and you went for proper checks at the National Hospital and you were tested positive. You really fought hard Magana.”
