MAI to fly its fifth relief flight between Incheon and Yangon on May 29
by Shun Le WinMyanmar Airways International (MIA) is flying relief flights to evacuate its citizens in foreign countries and now it is planning the fifth relief flight between Incheon and Yangon for Myanmar citizens over the world, sources said.
Myanmar government is planned to make South Korea as a hub to bring its citizens being stranded in foreign countries due to the prevention plans of COVID-19 and brought its 476 citizens to the country in four relief flights.
The airline will fly to Incheon, South Korea to bring more Myanmar nationals on May 29.
Moreover, the airline will fly Yangon-Sydney flight via Bali (Denpasar), Indonesia to fly its first long relief flight.
It also brought over 500 monks and nationals from Bangkok, Dhaka, Gaya, and Kuala Lumpur with free relief flights.
The relief flight arranged between Sydney and Yangon is intended for Myanmar nationals and foreigners to return home. The flight is arranged by the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Myanmar, Myanmar embassy in Canberra, and embassies of Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand in Yangon.
The passengers will be divided into three groups and Myanmar citizens from Sydney need to register at the Myanmar embassy in Canberra.
Nationals from Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand need to register at respective embassies in Yangon to return home. The seating numbers will be given priority for first comers.
