Tom Cruise’s Outer Space Movie With NASA & SpaceX Finally Has A Director?

The never heard before news of Tom Cruise planning to shoot a film in the outer space created a huge buzz in the past few weeks. While all further updates about the project are highly awaited, grapevine now has that the film has found its director. Hint: it is someone Tom has already worked with. Read on.

Tom Cruise left his fans shocked by going 100 notches above the expected scale for his next. The actor is collaborating with Elon Musk’s SpaceX and NASA to bring his envisioned project into reality.

Now according to the latest report in Variety, the film finally has a director. Tom Cruise’s past collaborator Doug Limon will be helming the unique project. The filmmaker has to his credit films like Edge of Tomorrow and American Made, both starring Tom Cruise.

The space film right now has no distributors in place and the plot of the film is unknown. But interestingly, Doug Limon and Tom Cruise have been developing a project with Paramount titled Lunar Park. Though Paramount has denied two being the same, Lunar Park is also a space-based story where a group of renegade employees goes to the moon to rob an energy source.

Both the actor and the director, have decided not to comment on it as of now. But according to the same report, Liman will be writing the script while Tom Cruise is the producer.

Meanwhile, there are no chances of the pre-production of this project beginning any time soon. Not just because of the pandemic but also Tom Cruise’s schedule. The actor has the next 2 Mission Impossible films and was working on them before everything came to a standstill.
