Veg Manchurian is a widely popular Indo-Chinese dish across India. This dish is made of deep-fried mixed vegetable dumplings tossed in Chinese sauce.

There are two different variants of veg Manchurian dry and gravy. Both variants are prepared by using common ingredients like veggies, cornflour, spring onions, bell peppers, chili sauce, ginger, garlic, pepper, etc.

It tastes best when served with fried rice, pan-fried noodles, or Hakka noodles. This delicious recipe can be served as an appetizer on parties and game nights.

For making Manchurian balls:

  1. Add cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, green chilies, salt, pepper, cornflour and plain flour in a mixing bowl and mix well to combine.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal parts and shape each part into a round ball.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep pan and deep fry the balls on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in color from all the sides.
  4. Drain on absorbent paper keeps aside.

For making veg gravy:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan on a medium flame.
  2. Now add ginger, garlic and green chilies and sauce for a few seconds.
  3. Add capsicum and spring onion whites and saute of at least 1 minute.
  4. Add the soy sauce and red chili sauce, mix well and saute on a high flame for a few seconds.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of water mixture, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Combine the cornflour and add 4 tbsp of water and add it, mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the salt and pepper, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute and keep aside.
  8. Serve the Manchurian garnish with spring onions.
