Woman seriously hurt and in hospital after Derby street attack

Four people have been arrested

A woman has been seriously hurt in an attack in a Derby residential street.

The victim has been taken to hospital after having been assaulted in Dale Road, Normanton.

Police say the incident happened at around 9.30pm on the evening of Tuesday, May 25.

Four people have been arrested in relation to the attack.

Police were keen to reassure Normanton residents that this incident is isolated.

They stress that that it is not related to an alleged stabbing that happened that day at the Polanica shop in Normanton Road, or an alleged burglary at the nearby Sikh temple.

Officers are also keen to speak to anyone in the local area who may know something about the assault. Those with information can get in touch with police quoting reference number 1656 of May 25.
