House survey identifies 13k with Covid-19, ILI and SARI symptoms in Karnataka

The Karnataka health department has identified about 13,341 persons with Covid-19, ILI and SARI symptoms during the door-to-door health survey done through teachers, staff and booth-level officers over the past few days.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka health department has identified about 13,341 persons with Covid-19, ILI and SARI symptoms during the door-to-door health survey done through teachers, staff and booth-level officers over the past few days. It has also identified 1.37 lakh people with co-morbidities and 48.35 lakh senior citizens, considered as vulnerable groups to keep a tab on their health.

Of the estimated 1.68 crore households in the state, survey work is completed in 1.13 crore households, according to the Covid-19 war room data. “We are identifying households who are vulnerable so as to give them more support and keep a track of them through ASHA and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives,” Munish Moudgil, in-charge officer of the war room, said. Karnataka reported 101 cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total number of infected to 2,283.

Highest cases were reported in Chitradurga (20), followed by Yadagiri (14), Belagavi (13) and Hassan (13), Davangere (11), Bidar (10) and Vijayapura (6). Bengaluru Urban saw two cases. About 1.9 lakh people in the state are under institutional quarantine, state Covid-19 spokesperson S Suresh Kumar said. The state received 2,896 passengers on domestic flights on Monday of which 1,377 passengers came from red zones.
