The personnel of the Delhi Police on Wednesday morning went to multiple parks and advised morning walkers to practice social distancing and not step out of their homes before 7 am.

With loudspeakers with them, the Delhi Police personnel made announcements, appealing to people use masks and maintain social distance as morning walkers.

Those found without a mask inside these parks were given face covers by the Delhi cops on Wednesday.

In a video from Lodhi Garden in Delhi, as people took a walk in the park, cops warned that action will be taken against those who fail to follow social distancing and other norms.

“Request all to practice social distancing and use masks. Ensure your safety and those with you,” a cop told morning walkers at the Lodhi Garden. Save yourself from coronavirus, the Delhi Police personnel added.

Along with advice, people roaming in these parks in Delhi without their faces covered were given masks by the Delhi Police personnel and left with a warning.

Last week, Delhi eased curbs as it reopened Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park and Talkatora Garden in the Lutyens area for public for jogging and running activities. The parks were closed for over two months in view of the coronavirus lockdown.

While only jogging, walking and running is permitted in the parks, no open gym or yoga is allowed.

Delhi also said those above 65 year and children below 10 years will not be allowed to enter the premises.

The parks in Delhi are open between 7 am to 10 am and 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm in the evening.
