Five more test positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland
Dimapur, May 27: Five more persons on Wednesday tested positive for coronavirus taking the total number of cases in Nagaland to nine. This is the third consecutive day that the state, which was earlier identified as a green zone because of zero cases, detected positive cases.
All the five new cases were returnees from Chennai. Of the five, four tested positive in Dimapur and one in Kohima.
“Update: Another 5 more returnees from Chennai tested COVID19 +ve this morning; 4 from Dimapur and 1 from Kohima. With this, we have 9 active case in Nagaland. They all are undergoing proper medical treatment at COVID19 Hospital Dmp & Khm respectively,” tweeted Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom at 9:28 AM on Wednesday.
On Monday (May 25) and Tuesday (May 26), the state had detected three and one cases respectively.
All the nine patients are being treated and monitored in the COVID19 hospitals in Dimapur and Kohima respectively. With more stranded people reaching the state from different parts of the country and with more tests, the number of positive cases is likely to increase. (Page News Service)
