Uttarakhand Forest Fires: Devastating Visuals Capture 51.34 Hectares Of Forest Burning
by Disha BanerjeeSince the past 4 days, Uttarakhand has been burning as 46 forest fires have been recorded in the northern state. According to TOI, 51.34 hectares of the forest has suffered due to the fires, causing damages worth Rs 1.32 lakhs.
According to the Forest Department, a forest fire first broke out in Srinagar on May 23 and it was difficult to control the situation due to the strong winds. 2 people have lost their lives and 1 is injured so far, reports Business Insider. However, the animals in the region continue to be at risk.
