After recovering from COVID-19, Zoa Morani donates blood plasma for the second time

Mumbai: Almost two months after recovering from coronavirus, Zoa Morani, daughter of renowned film producer Karim Morani, donated her blood plasma to help the patients who are currently battling the virus.

She shared a picture of herself from the hospital and wrote, "Plasma donation round 2 ! Last time it helped get a patient out of ICU , Note from my Doctor “hoping all recovered covid patients come out and donate their blood , u may be able to help someone" (sic).

This is the second time that Zoa donated her plasma post-recovery. Days after she was discharged, she had tweeted, "Donated my blood today for the Plasma therapy trials at Nair hospital. It was fascinating! Always a silver lining I suppose. The team there was so enthusiastic and careful. There was a general physician on standby just in case of emergency and the equipment brand new and safe (sic)."

She had also thanked the doctors for taking care of her and being on the frontline in tackling the crisis. She had revealed that after donating her plasma, the hospital even gave her a certificate and Rs 500 for it.

Zoa, along with her father and sister Shaza Morani had tested positive for coronavirus in April. All three were discharged from the hospital after testing negative and were home quarantined for the next 14 days as per the protocols.

After donating Rs 25 crores to PM CARES fund and Rs 3 crore to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Akshay Kumar has now pledged his support to Mumbai Police. After opening up his Juhu hotel to accommodate medical workers and providing meals to the underprivileged in Mumbai, the actor has now stepped up efforts to help migrant workers living in Bhiwandi. Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh and her family has been helping over 200-250 families living in a slum close to her home in Gurgaon. The actress' family is preparing and sending home-cooked meal two times a day ever since the lockdown was announced. The actress and her family pledged to support these families till things normalise. "My dad figured this entire slum where people are completely out of their basics right now. We are facilitating two meals a day for all those people and we have decided to do it till the time the lockdown is in place. If the lockdown gets pushed further, I will keep doing that. For now, I have committed for the month of April and then we will see, as the situation unfolds. The food would be cooked at a place in my society and will be sent out to those people." The actress further added, "It is very important to understand that many of us are privileged. We have a house, help, food, ability to stack up in case of emergency, but this is when you give it to society. For me, nothing can give me more happiness than the smiles on these people's faces when they eat their meal. And that will make me extremely happy. So that's my way of expressing gratitude for everything I have and it is a very small effort. Whoever can make a difference should, because I truly believe in giving back to society." Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has provided meals to poor people who are without jobs and homes, and healthcare workers. He has collaborated with Tata Trust for the initiative.
