Microsoft Edge Now Has A Surfing Game In It

You’ve seen, and likely played, the jumping dinosaur game on Google’s Chrome browser. Microsoft also has an equivalent game on its Chromium Edge browser, which is now part of the Chromium Edge general release. You can access it while using the browser offline, or by navigating to edge://surf on the browser.

As Microsoft puts it, the Edge browser game is inspired by the classic SkiFree game. The gameplay is pretty basic, with simple controls using the keyboard. You start with three lives, which are consumed each time you hit an obstacle. You can also pick up boosts that you can give you a temporary increase in speed.

The Microsoft Edge surfing game even comes with three game modes. The base is the endless mode, where your goal is to surf as far as you can. Then there’s time trial, which has a fixed course you need to traverse. And finally, there’s zig zag, which has you surf through as many gates as you can in a row. Pretty elaborate for a browser distraction.

This surfing game first appeared in the new Microsoft Edge browser last year in November, when it got its new logo. Back then, it was part of an elaborate Easter Egg hunt. Now, it’s not only easily accessible, but it’s also got support for gamepad inputs. As mentioned earlier, you can access it by navigating to edge://surf on the Microsoft Edge browser.
