Pair charged over ‘gang-related’ brawl at Logan pub

by

Two men have been charged over a large gang-related fight at a Loganholme hotel earlier this year.

The brawl, which allegedly involved a group of men including Mongrel Mob and Finks OMCG members and associates, took place at a hotel on March 8.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima’s Organised Crime Gangs Group have been investigating the altercation ever since, and yesterday issued a 23-year-old man from Sunny Bank Hills and a 29-year-old man for Boronia Heights with consorting notices and public nuisance infringement notices.

In a separate matter, consorting notices were also issued to two Bandido OMCG members living at Oxenford on the Gold Coast and Mount Cotton.

“Consorting notices make it illegal for members to associate or keep company with other gang members,” Qld Police said in a statement.

Officer-in-charge of Taskforce Maxima, Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann, said police will continue to target criminal behaviour of gangs in this region.

“We will continue to suppress gang-related violence within Gold Coast and Logan community, taking action at every opportunity to disrupt their illegal, and anti-social behaviour,” Detective Senior Sergeant Lehmann said.
