Chris Evans has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for almost 8 years. In 2011, he joined MCU as Steve Rogers or Captain America for the first film, Captain America: The First Avenger. Since then, the journey of playing this superhero character has only been interesting for the actor.

MCU films have a lot of fan following all over the world. It is based on Marvel comics but everyone knows that the makers tweak a lot of things in their storytelling to make it different than comics. Despite being one of the successful film universes all around the world, not everyone is a fan of it. MCU films have been criticised several times by moviegoers and celebs for not being ‘cinema’. Now, our ‘Captain America’ Chris Evans has reacted to the same.

In The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter Podcast, Chris Evans said that some people are still getting used to the kind of films Marvel makes. But that doesn’t mean what MCU makes isn’t special. The Avengers: Endgame actor said, “We may be a little bit too accustomed to the structure now so I think it’s easy to sweep it into the same category as films of that nature. But I really do think they stand apart. And the calibre of talent they attract is a testament to that.”

Meanwhile, last year, acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese had criticised MCU films. The Oscar-winning director had said that these superhero movies are not cinema to him. He compared MCU films with theme park and said they movies are for kids. His statements didn’t go down well with the fandom all over the world.

Talking about Chris Evans, the actor is all geared up as the last episode of Defending Jacob will be out this Friday. This Apple TV+ crime series have received amazing reviews from fans and critics so far. Defending Jacob also stars Michelle Dockery and Jaeden Martell in the lead roles.
