Underwater exploration game, Beyond Blue, slightly delayed, now releasing on June 11th

E-Line Media, creators of BAFTA award-winning game Never Alone, has announced that ocean adventure Beyond Blue, will release on June 11th. The game was originally meant to come out on June 8th, meaning that it has been delayed by just three days.

Inspired by and featuring footage from Blue Planet II, E-Line Media created Ocean Insights. Ocean Insights is a sixteen mini-documentaries that players will be able to unlock in the game. Fans can take an early look at what exists beneath the depths with a new trailer. This trailer features some of the scientists that worked with the game developers to capture the experience of bringing the deep ocean to life.

The game will focus on the Western Pacific Ocean amid a large multispecies gathering of cetaceans and other creatures. Players will step into the shoes (and flippers) of Mirai, as they use technology to better understand the urgent threats facing these blue depths.

At the same time, Beyond Blue will feature never-before-seen footage licensed from BBC Studios’ Blue Planet II. This footage will expand upon the game’s story. It will also educate players about the social and emotional lives of these whales.

Here are the game’s key features:

• An evocative narrative with full voice cast. Anna Akana (YouTube), Mira Furlan (Lost, Babylon 5), Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Black Sails, Hotel Rwanda), and Ally Maki (Toy Story 4)
• Exploration and adventure within a realistic untouched world
• Sixteen unique mini-documentaries called Ocean Insights that feature original footage and interviews with science’s leading ocean experts
