DRUGS, cars and cash were seized during police raids targeting the South East Antrim UDA in Co Down yesterday.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of Class A controlled drugs with intent to supply, and possessing and converting criminal property.

He was held after officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force, neighbourhood officers and members of the PSNI Tactical Support Group carried out a series of co-ordinated searches in the Newtownards and Dundonald areas, seizing £8,000 in cash, two `high end' cars, and a quantity of suspected Class A and Class B controlled drugs.

They also discovered the component parts of a suspected cannabis factory.

A police spokeswoman asked anyone with information about any criminality linked to paramilitaries to contact detectives on 101.
