Friend of deceased tenant, Spark Benajmine, says people who witnessed the aftermath of the shooting resorted to taking pictures rather than helping take the body to the hospital.

The friend who spoke to GhanaWeb on condition of anonymity also recounted how insensitive passersby acted.

“You can imagine how wicked people were when I was struggling to get a taxi to convey my friend to the hospital. They were just looking at me, nobody was ready to help me. They were just taking pictures. It was such a painful scene for me.”

He also said he was in the house of the deceased when the murder occurred.

“I was in the house with my friend when the landlord called and said that he was at the gate. He asked that we went to see him at the gate. I took the lead and he followed. I saw the landlord come out of a taxi wearing a bullet proof jacket with a gun and my friend quickly asked me to reach out to a police friend of ours. I quickly rushed to get my phone from the room.

“While dialing the number to reach out to our police friend, I heard gunshots. I came out but the landlord had absconded,” he said.
