Kathy Griffin says Trump should inject deadly syringe 'with nothing but air inside'

by

Comedian Kathy Griffin is under fire again after she suggested President Trump inject himself with a potentially deadly air-filled syringe.

Ms. Griffin made the controversial comment in response to a tweet by CNN’s Jim Acosta, who quoted Mr. Trump at a diabetes event as saying, “I don’t use insulin. Should I be?”

Ms. Griffin replied, “Syringe with nothing but air inside it would do the trick. [Expletive] TRUMP.”

The Washington Examiner, which first reported Ms. Griffin’s tweet, noted that air injected into the body’s bloodstream through syringes or IVs can cause air embolisms, which can be fatal.

Some critics notified the U.S. Secret Service’s Twitter account of the comedian’s tweet.

Ms. Griffin became a public pariah in 2017 when she was photographed holding a fake severed head depicting the president, causing her to lose sponsors, hosting gigs and tour dates. She said she was investigated by the Secret Service and the Department of Justice and briefly placed on the federal no-fly list over the stunt.

The stand-up comedian, who routinely complains that she is still blacklisted by Hollywood over the controversy, showed no signs of backing down from her tweet later Wednesday.

“I SURE DID, [expletive]. #TrumpLiedPeopleDied,” Ms. Griffin responded to a tweet by the Washington Examiner that read, “@KathyGriffin advocates for someone to stab @realDonaldTrump with syringe full of air. Air embolisms, caused by air getting into the bloodstream, can be fatal.”
