Denmark allows couples separated by pandemic to reunite over border

Denmark has opened its borders with Germany and Nordic countries, but only to couples, which have been separated by the pandemic, and provided they can prove their relationship with correspondence, BBC reports.
From Monday, May 25, permanent residents of Finland, Iceland, Germany, Norway and Sweden all qualify, provided their partner is a resident of Denmark. At present, the authorities say people must give the name, address and contact details of their partner in Denmark, as well as phone records, photos and text histories to prove the relationship.
Danish Justice Minister Nick Hækkerup, however, has announced these regulations will be relaxed in the coming days, so all that is needed is a letter signed by both parties.
«If you say you are a boyfriend and sign [the letter], we will assume it [is true],»
