3 of family hurt as miscreants hurl bombs

In yet another incident of the deteriorating law and order situation in Khordha district, a couple and their son sustained critical injuries when unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at their house at Bhogada village under the Baghamari police station on late on Monday night.

Hearing the explosion, neighbours rushed to the spot, rescued the victims and rushed them to the District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar as their condition worsened.

The culprits fled the spot after the incident, when locals rushed to the spot. Preliminary investigation revealed the miscreants had come with the intention to loot. But when the house owner Sushant Jaisingh tried to resist them, they hurled bombs.

Police have started investigation into the incident and initiated efforts to identify and nab the accused.
