52-yr-old refuses money to robbers, attacked

A 52-year-old man was attacked with sharp edged weapon after he refused to provide money to miscreant who attempted to rob in the wee hours on Monday in Nariyalkheda area; Gautam Nagar police have started investigation.

Police said that the victim Rajkumar Chourasia was attacked by the miscreant with the sharp edged weapon in his stomach and chest after he opposed miscreant to rob his money.SHO of Gautam Nagar police MK Mishra said that the victim is undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital. The police have checked CCTV footages but found no clue in the investigation.

The habitual offenders of the area have been quizzed. Condition of the victim is reportedly stable and is under observation. The search for the absconding accused is on, he added.

The police said that at around 5 in the morning victim was on his way to Einthkhedi to buy vegetables where he was followed by the miscreant and who soon obstructed his way and asked for money which the victim opposed and later attacked by the accused in his stomach.

Even after been attacked victim continued to fight which irked the accused who then attacked in the chest and later escaped the spot after failing to rob the victim.The victim is a vegetable seller and is a resident of Nariyalkheda.

 He was attacked when he was on his way to buy vegetable for selling. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation police have registered a case under section 397 of the IPC and started investigation.
