Bokaro reports 2 new Covid cases

Two new positive cases of Coronavirus infection have been found in Bokaro district, they have returned from Mumbai, informed Mukesh Kumar Deputy Commissioner Bokaro on Tuesday.

Aged about 40 years, both are residents of Nawadih block, were admitted at COVID Hospital at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH). Till now, the total number of infected people in the district has now risen to 17 out of which one died while 9 people were recovered and returned their home, informed an official. On 22 May, five new positive cases of Coronavirus infection were reported in Bokaro includes four CISF personnel returned from Bhubaneswar and one is of Telo village, returned from Mumbai. Now they are admitted at COVID Hospital, BGH.

Earlier on 7 May, the district turns into zero COVID-19 cases but as the inflow of migrant workers increases in Bokaro, the district reported new COVID-19 positive cases. Most of the migrants are coming from high-risk red zones in worst-affected states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi including other states, said an official.

The district administration is keeping a close watch on the entry of the migrant workers, students and others trapped outside the state due to a national lockdown imposed to check the spread of Covid-19 in India. '
