NIT, Raipur, to hold online exam for final year students

Amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown, the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, is preparing to hold its examination online for final year students. The NIT Raipur Senate has decided to hold the examination in digital format.

Accordingly, the final year students can take the examination through e-mail, WhatsApp and other electronic mode. NIT Raipur will adopt open book question technique. Students will have to take a snap of the answer sheet and send it through e-mail or WhatsApp.

NIT Raipur has already announced the examination time-table: June 1 to 12.

NIT, Raipur, hostels were evacuated at the start of the lockdown in March. All the students were sent home as most students are from other states.

Considering the continuing lockdown and other issues, it was felt that recalling all the students and holding examination physically at the centre would be a difficult proportion.

This arrangement has been made only for final year students as many students have already cleared the campus selection. If the final year examinations are not held, then the students will be at a loss.

NIT Public and Media Relations Cell chairperson Dr Swasthik Sthapak said the students will get the open book questions at 9 am through email and WhatsApp. They have to send back the answers by 4 pm.

The open book question does not mean that students will find answer in their books. These will be tricky questions. Time is being given to the students so that they can scan their reply or take a photograph of their answers and send it.
