Princess Phulbadan of Sinhala Island is famous for her beauty and wisdom. The princess has a vow that whoever gives the right answer to the riddles asked by the princess will marry her and the one who does not give the right answer will be put in jail. The kings of many territories are taken captive by the princess with this condition, in which the king of Sitalgarh, Sital Singh is also taken captive by the princess.

On hearing the news of her husband being captive, Chandralekha, wife of King Sital Singh, she pleads to Risalu, the king of Risalgarh, that you are a courageous and learned king. Get rid of the kings held captive by the princess.

King Risalu asks his beloved parrot Hiraman to bring news from that state. Hiraman comes back and tells the whole thing to King Risalu.

Raja Risalu, after meditating on his Guru Gorakhnath, goes to Sinhala Island and free the captive kings by giving all the correct answers to princess's riddles, and also accept marriage proposal as per Princess Phoolbadan's vow.
