The next generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan has been caught in camouflage on German roads ahead of its likely showroom arrival in Europe in 2021 and Australia in 2022.
Although the test car is heavily disguised, the photos show the external proportions of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan remain largely unchanged, though the headlights and tail-lights are expected to adopt the Stuttgart marque’s latest design language.
The all-new model is said to have completely changed from the ground up.
According to our German spy agency, the new Mercedes C-Class will be based on new underpinnings that better accomodate hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology – and will have a roomier interior than today's model.
The interior is expected to borrow some of the large digital displays and design themes from the upcoming Mercedes S-Class limousine flagship, taking its cabin technology to the next level.
Our spy agency also says the 2021 Mercedes C-Class is expected to be available with a choice of four-cylinder and six-cylinder power, petrol and diesel, and hybrid and plug-in hybrid options.
Due to follow in 2022 and 2023 are high performance AMG models, a conventional wagon, and a Subaru Outback-style off-road version of the C-Class estate, according to our German-based spy agency.
Australian arrival timing is a long way from being confirmed, however CarAdvice understands the new generation Mercedes C-Class could make it into local showrooms in late 2021 or early 2022.
