Simran appeared on Grayson’s Art Club alongside his mum Mandish, after submitting a piece of artwork to the show during lockdown.
And while presenter Grayson Perry was impressed with the work at first glance, it turns out the picture had a deeper meaning than he originally thought.
The artist quizzed his guests over their inspiration for the piece, seeing Simran cut out pictures of his family and arrange them on the backdrop of their kitchen – with a photo of his brother taking pride of place.
‘He died when he was four and also when I was four,’ the schoolboy explained while wrapped in his mum’s arms.

Wiping a tear away from his eye, he added: ‘Home is where the heart is and my heart is with my family.’
The proud parent was quick to step in and told the host: ‘It’s alright, he’s getting upset, I’m sorry – he was so nervous, he has made some notes for himself.’
Stroking her son’s head, Mandish added: ‘Sorry it’s coming up to the anniversary of his death, it’s a really odd time being in quarantine and in your home, which you love, but not being able to get out and about.
‘We would normally put dinosaurs on park benches and make notes with paint saying, “take me home and play with me.”
‘It’s a sad day but it’s nice to make people happy.’
When Grayson asked why dinosaurs, the grieving mother said: ‘He loves dinosaurs, I know it sounds odd, but we kept the ashes, I just can’t bear to let him go.
‘And we say who ever goes first gets to take him with them.’
After they finished their video call, the 60-year-old wiped his eyes as he told viewers at home: ‘I must admit I shed a little tear myself then.
‘He shared a home with his brother, the most fundamental home you can share: the mothers womb.
‘They were twins, and so he still carries his housemate in his heart with him.’
Prime Minister Boris Johnson sent the UK into lockdown to help stall the spread of Covid-19, and while he has started to ease his measures, Brits must stick to the two metre social distancing rules.
Grayson’s Art Club continues Monday at 8pm on Channel 4.
