Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo and Kate Walsh celebrate iconic scene 15 years on

by

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has reminisced about a very iconic moment from the show’s early seasons with former co-star Kate Walsh.

As if you can believe it, it’s been 15 years since Walsh’s character Addison Montgomery made her debut.

She was introduced as the wife of Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), the love interest of Meredith Grey (Pompeo).

Coming in with one of the best character introductions of, like, all-time, ever, Addison saunters over to Meredith and says: ‘So, you’re the woman who’s been screwing my husband.’

Honestly, we’re still shaking. And it turns out, so are Ellen and Kate.

Taking to Twitter to celebrate the anniversary, Kate said: ‘Unreal that today marks 15 years ago to the day since this little lady walked on to your screen and checked ya for screwing her husband [sic].’

Ellen replied, saying: ‘Thank god I messed with your hubby! It worked out well for us both!

‘Love you so much and that scene… When your character showed up was such a defining moment for this show.’

She continued: ‘From that point on we had the hooked!’

Grey’s is, of course, still going strong to this day (although Walsh is no longer starring on the show) and recently wrapped up its 16th season.

And what about season 17? Well, the show’s head writer has given us an update.

Grey’s Anatomy is available to stream now via Amazon Prime Video.
