Angry shoppers shame woman in NY store for not wearing mask then kick her out

A group of furious New Yorkers was filmed shaming a shopper for not wearing a mask then chased her out of a grocery store.

The video, which lasts 21 seconds, shows at least five customers screaming at the woman for now wearing a face mask inside a crowded grocery store in Staten Island, New York.

New York state, which has suffered more than 29,000 coronavirus deaths, has ordered all people to wear a mask when in public, especially when in buildings where social distancing is difficult.

‘Get the fuck out of here,’ one of the customers screams at the woman, who throws her hands up in protest. Other shoppers are also heard shouting at the woman to get out.

After a few tense moments of arguing, the woman appears to give up and walk out of the store while customers followed her out to ensure she leaves.

The clip was posted to Twitter by McAuley Holmes on Sunday and has since racked up more than 2.7 million views.

Holmes later spoke with Heavy and said he did not film the scene himself, but found it on Redditt.

It is unclear who shot the video or which store the incident occurred at.

On Monday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo shot down requests to open Staten Island early, although seven of the state’s ten regions have already begun reopening.

‘If you live on Staten Island, you very well may be working in Manhattan, you’re traveling through the New York City area.’

‘I get that sometimes every borough would like to secede and be its own place. But Staten Island, just practically, is still part of New York City.’
