Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins sees Joey Essex quit

Joey Essex has become the latest celebrity to quit Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins amid an intense captivity task.

The former Towie star kissed goodbye to the Channel 4 programme as he and the other remaining recruits were forced to undertake a brutal interrogation challenge which saw them subjected to horrendous torture techniques.

However, Joey pulled out from the training programme after he revealed his fellow captors’ names just as the going got tough.

‘He hasn’t got the emotional intellect to get through this,’ remarked Ant Middleton, as he watched Joey from afar.

After Joey’s meeting with the interrogators, he decided enough was enough and refused to put the bag back over his head.

‘F**k that s***,’ Joey snapped. ‘Get that s*** away from me man.’

‘I cant wait to get the f*** out of here,’ he added.

Speaking to the camera, Joey addressed his untimely departure: ‘I’ve never let anyone down. People know I’m a good person.

‘I feel my mum is proud of me. She’s looking down on me. It’s made me a really strong person.’

Joey isn’t the only celeb to have pulled out from this year’s series.

Katie Price was the first star to quit the show, after struggling to hold a sandbag above her head during a group punishment exercise.

Despite ducking out of the competition, the 41-year-old vowed to win the Channel 4 show next year.

‘I have unfinished business – I will go back and win it! I don’t want people thinking or saying I chickened out,’ she explained.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is available for catch-up on Channel 4OD
