EastEnders fans break down in tears as Sharon finds dead son Dennis’s belongings and regrets giving up baby Kayden

EASTENDERS fans were feeling rather emotional at the end of Monday night's episode as Sharon Mitchell broke down in tears after finding dead son Dennis's belongings.

Sharon (played by Letitia Dean) returned to Albert Square after spending some time away after the tragedy but she wasn't expecting to find her son's things upstairs at the Queen Vic.

As Linda Carter presented her with a black bag of Dennis' stuff, Sharon found a wrapped present that he had brought for Sharon's unborn baby at the time.

Back in February, Sharon gave birth to her baby - who she named Kayden - as son Dennis died in the boat disaster.

The businesswoman was forced to give birth in the funeral home after being taken hostage at gunpoint by Ben Mitchell.

Following her eldest son's death, Sharon struggled to cope with her newborn and handed Kayden over to his paternal grandmother, Karen Taylor, and fled to Australia.

However, now that she's back it seems Sharon is having second thoughts about giving away her baby and fans couldn't cope with the emotional scenes as Sharon opened the teddy that Dennie had purchased.

"OMFG ‘TO MY BABY BROTHER OR SISTER’ im gonna cry #EastEnders," one person tweeted, referring to the gift tag Dennis had written.

"omg i can’t with this #EastEnders," another viewer wrote, while a third said: "That was heartbreaking, poor Sharon! #EastEnders."

A fourth person added: "Sharon has literally broken my heart. I am really going to miss her when the show goes off air. Please give her the vic! #EastEnders."

It was a bittersweet return to Albert Square for Sharon, because as well as being reminded of her late son, she and Phil Mitchell also decided to give their relationship another go.

Elsewhere on the BBC soap, viewers predicted a future romance between Ruby and Martin after continued flirting with one another.

Martin is clearly so smitten with the nightclub owner that he made a rash decision to quit his job on the market stall to go and work as her head of security.

However, Max did not look happy about the hiring and confronted Ruby about her actions.
