Nottingham Forest and Leeds United transfer target breaks silence on THAT social media leak

Nottingham Forest transfer news: Sabri Lamouchi's Reds and Marcelo Bielsa's Whites have been heavily linked with a move for the Senegalese international forward

Leeds United and Nottingham Forest transfer target Mbaye Diagne has cleared up confusion about an Instagram post on his official account appearing to confirm a move to the City Ground.

The Galatasaray striker posted a picture on the social media platform of him in loan side Club Brugge's kit with the Reds' logo edited onto the picture.

Curiously, the caption posted alongside the picture didn't make reference to the Forest badge, with the 28-year-old writing about his faith in God.

The picture is still on Diagne's feed, with many taking it as confirmation that the reports linking him with a move to the City Ground are true.

Diagne, formerly of Juventus, has been linked with the Reds and their Championship promotion rivals Leeds United.

The Senegal international has put the breaks on any transfer talk now, though.

"I posted it but I didn't realise what was on it, and it certainly wasn't anything official," he told The Guardian.

"But once it was done, it was done. It wasn't intentional."

Regarding Forest and any contact from the club, he added: "Not with me.

"Any negotiations would have to go through Galatasaray and I don't know if anyone has been in touch with them."

Diagne has scored four times for Brugge this season but has only made six appearances for the Belgian top tier side, whose campaign has been cancelled because of coronavirus.
