The Chase: Bradley Walsh stunned as contestant wants to 'rent a chap' with prize
by Abigail GillibrandThe Chase’s Bradley Walsh was left stunned after a contestant confessed she wanted to ‘rent a chap’ with the winnings.
Former nurse Shirley, fancied her chances at beating the Chaser and went up against Mark Labbett with the hopes of taking homes some cash.
However, the stand out star of the episode shocked the host when she revealed what she would spend the prize fund on – if she were to win.
‘If you were to win some money today, what would you do with it?’ the presenter quizzed.
And no one was expecting the hopefuls answer, as she explained: ‘My husband and I used to travel a lot.
‘We loved travelling, and now I’m alone I find it difficult, so I’m going to rent a chap to take along with me, carry my baggage, pour my gin and tonic, and perhaps dance with me in the evening.’
Shocked at her response, Bradders gasped: ‘Do you know what Shirley? This is what I’m going to do.’
Not letting him finished, she quipped: ‘Are you going to volunteer?’
Letting out an awkward laugh, Bradley said: ‘Erm, no.
‘Shirley, I’m going to start a company called “rent a chap”, the new RAC. Rent a chap. That’s what we are going to do. I’ll find you someone.’
Teasing the 59-year-old, she joked: ‘I’ll do the vetting!’
The Chase has had some rather shocking moments this week, and closed off their Family edition with one heck of an episode.
Amelia Fuller went head-to-head with Mark Labbett where she opted for the higher option of £68,000.
And after a tense round of the cash builder, the 23-year-old beat the Chaser, bringing her family’s prize fund up to a whopping £80,000.
However, viewers were left gutted when he piped them to the post, and beat them in the finale with just 13 seconds to spare.
The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
