Southampton could be forced to sell star players?

Southampton may reportedly find themselves in a position where they have to make several player sales during the next transfer window.

With nine games remaining, the Saints sit seven points clear of the relegation zone, putting the club in a strong position when it comes to retaining their top-flight status.

However, according to the Daily Star, issues behind the scenes may lead to the South-coast outfit offloading a number of key men.

The report suggests that owner Jisheng Gao is eager to find a buyer for his 80% stake of the club, even if it means selling it for a cut-price fee.

Should that not materialise, Southampton will allegedly have to raise funds through parting ways with some of their most prized assets.

Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse will all fall into that category, as will Ryan Bertrand who has just over a year left on his contract.
