Mysterious aircraft approaches Russia’s largest base in Syria: media

by

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:40 P.M.) – A mysterious aircraft was discovered a few hours ago near the Russia’s Hmeimim Airbase in western Syria.

According to Avia.Pro,  the aircraft was likely a Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, given the data that was presented.

“Judging by the data provided by IntelSky, we are talking about the Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter, however, the flight speed of the aircraft, which reaches more than 700 km/hr, is noteworthy, which indicates that the data transmitted in the air were tampered with, since helicopters cannot reach such a high speed, and taking into account flights near the Russian military airbase, experts believe that in this way the United States or the allies of this country are trying to get some information about the situation at the Russian military facility,” the Russian publication said.

They would point out that this military chopper belongs to the U.S. Coast Guard; however, they question why would a USCG helicopter fly so close to the Syrian border, especially being so far from the United States.

“The Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk is a US Coast Guard helicopter, as the ADS-B shows, however, a lot of questions raise what exactly a military American helicopter does at such a great distance from the United States. It is possible that this is another U.S. trick, especially since Israeli military reconnaissance aircraft were also in the sky,” Avia.Pro said, citing a military specialist.

As the publication pointed out, the aircraft and flight plan is still unknown; however, given the recent U.S. reconnaissance flights near the Hmeimim Airbase, there is a good chance the aircraft did belong to them.
