'Pedophile raped 6-year-old and infected her with gonorrhea'

A man is behind bars after he allegedly raped a six-year-old girl and infected her with gonorrhea, police said.

Daniel Prieto, 38, is being held in jail without bail after a judge declared him a danger to the community on Thursday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Prieto admitted to police that he had sexual relations with the young girl numerous times while they were alone as recent as late January. He sadi he also forced the girl to perform oral sex on him, according to the city police affidavit.

The girl later told workers at a child advocacy center that Prieto told her ‘to keep a secret’ because he would be in trouble if she told anyone about the alleged abuse.

Authorities originally began investigating the case on February 8 after the girl was reported missing. She was found 90 minutes later, according to PennLive.

The victim’s mother told authorities that she learned in February that she had contracted gonorrhea. She said her daughter also tested positive for the same sexually transmitted infection.

Investigators said Prieto ‘engaged in at least three separate sexual acts’ with the victim. Prieto later admitted he forced the girl to engage in sexual intercourse and oral sex.

In a police interview, the victim’s mother told officers that the only sexual contact she had in the last several years was with Prieto.

Prieto has since been charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a child and corruption of minors.

He is currently being held in Lycoming County Jail.
