A man on a scrambler bike who was being chased tried to get into a woman's car at traffic lights.
The man tried to open the rear door of a grey Mini at traffic lights at the junction of County Road on Simonswood Lane in Kirkby just after 7.30pm on Thursday evening.
Police said that the two men were seen running at the man at the time of the incident.
The ECHO understands a woman was driving the Mini at the time.
A police spokesman said to the ECHO: "We are appealing for information after a man tried to open a car door at traffic lights in Kirkby on Thursday evening (21 May 2020).
"The incident was reported just after 7.30pm, when the man – who was on a scrambler bike - attempted to open the rear door of a grey Mini at traffic lights at the junction of County Road on Simonswood Lane.
"It was also reported two men were running towards the male at the time.
Enquiries into the exact circumstances of the incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact police."
